ABOUT
Magdalyn Jacques is a freelance, Toronto based Sound Editor/Designer & Re-recording Mixer with a background in scripted and factual entertainment. Her most recent work ‘Naked’ (dir. Daniela Rojo) will premiere at the ICFF's special showing of graduate short films and has been selected as a nominee for the '22 Toronto International Women's Festival.
Magdalyn has taught Audio Post Production as part of Mohawk College's Dual Credit faculty and will be added to the slate of officers for the Alumni Advisory Council later this year. She has worked on set and in post as a Recordist, Sound Effects Editor and Re-recording Mixer. She has mixed live OHL broadcasts out of Cable14's mobile truck and restored audio for legal prosecutions, polished podcast dialogue, mixed independent films, as well as OTT and branded content.
She is currently expanding her Atmos studio and engineering skillset towards a career as a Sound Editor for feature films while freelancing in the Toronto area. Fluent in Pro Tools, iZotope RX, FabFilter, Dolby’s Production Suite and various soft synths, she expresses a native understanding of the emotional potential of storytelling with sound – listen to Magdalyn's portfolio
